In October 2005, at the St David’s Hotel in Cardiff, fifteen subjects (10 women and 5 men) were subjected to 48 hours without sleep. They were policed morning, noon and night to ensure there was no snoozing and were examined and assessed at regular intervals by a professional Dermatologist and Chartered Psychologist.
The reason? To find out if ‘Beauty Sleep’ is based on myth or reality?
Kalms Sleep commissioned this study to look in to the effects that sleep deprivation has on our skin, the way we look and the way we believe we look – and ultimately if there is such a thing as beauty sleep.
