Remembering Dreams

We all dream, but some of us can remember several dreams from a night's sleep. Others might only recall dreams occasionally or not at all.

Most of what happens in our sleep, including dreams, are forgotten by the morning.

Sometimes we suddenly remember a dream later in the day or on another day which seems to indicate that the memories of our dreams are not totally lost but for some reason are very hard to retrieve.

How do I remember my dreams?
Before you go to sleep, make a mental note to yourself that you want to remember your dreams. You will also need to keep a notebook by your bedside.

When you wake up, try to move as little as possible and avoid thinking about the day ahead.

Note down all of your dreams and the images they contained. Any distractions at this point will cause the memory of your dream to fade.

If you can't recall a dream fully, just note the last thing that was on your mind before you woke up, even if your memory of it is only vague.

With time and practice you’ll get better at remembering your dreams and how to record them.
